Although we predicted the death of the nineties trend it seems that it’s sticking around for another season. Don’t believe us? Just Google tattoo choker and you’ll find a girth of choker and nineties inspiration! We have to admit, tattoo chokers are pretty cute. But those exorbitant prices are, well, not so cute. Find out how you can make your own below at a fraction of the price with our tattoo choker tutorial.
Magic string or stretch magic is a bead and jewellery cord. This material is super strong, super stretchy and great for making chokers! If you’re not a fan of the tattoo style choker, don’t worry. With this stuff you’ll have enough material to experiment in a ton of ways!
Some crafty people have been using fishing line instead of stretch magic, which can be dangerous! We don’t suggest this as it can easily cut into your skin, will stretch less and may cut off circulation.
Many of the chokers we’ve seen have been super simple with only one pendant. Psh! We know you can do better than that. Try attaching small beads along the length of the choker as you knot it, or adding an array of pendants in a cascading style! Oh and don’t forget you don’t have to stick to black. A clear tattoo choker can create a killer alien style accent to any outfit.
