Some Think Rose McGowan’s Arrest Warrant Is Suspicious
Nov 2, 2017
A warrant has been issued for actress Rose McGowan's arrest, and many people, including McGowan, have found the timing to be quite the coincidence. Or, as Rose herself put it, "a load of horsesh*t." McGowan has been a regular figure in the news since she publicly spoke out against disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein, and has since inspired some 58 other women to do the same. The allegations against Weinstein range from sexual harassment to rape; in McGowan's case, it was the latter. So, the fact that McGowan is now wanted by the authorities in Virginia is interesting, to say the least.
Rose. Rose McGowan has openly spoken about sexual misconduct in the industry for years. Finally, in October, she decided to name names and out Harvey Weinstein.
The NYT expose. Reportedly, Weinstein knew about the article in The New York Times wherein McGowan detailed her claims against him before it was published. Weinstein allegedly offered McGowan $1 million to keep quiet, which she declined.
1992. McGowan has accused Weinstein of a slew of sexual misconduct and abuse. The most violent incident happened in 1992, when, according to McGowan, Weinstein forcibly raped her.
The settlement. It's been verified that McGowan and Weinstein reached a settlement in connection with Weinstein's misconduct. McGowan has subsequently stated that she's been silenced for 20 years, largely at the expense of her career.
Scream. McGowan worked with Weinstein while filming the movie Scream. She again worked with him when she was cast in the Robert Rodriguez Grindhouse film Planet Terror.
Felony possession. The details surrounding McGowan's warrant are somewhat murky. She allegedly left something of hers behind at Dulles Airport in Washington after a United Airlines flight on January 20. As far as whether she forgot to pick up a bag or if she left a sweater behind on the plane, it's unknown.
The mystery item. So, airport security reportedly tested the item for whatever reason and found traces of a narcotic substance in it. It's possible that the item was flagged by a drug-sniffing dog, but that's just speculation.
The mystery narcotic. So, traces of a mystery narcotic were found in the mystery item that was linked to Rose McGowan. As for what the narcotic is, it could have been a prescription pill; that information has not been made public.
The warrant. The warrant for Rose's arrest was issued in February. So, one has to wonder...why are we just finding out about it now?
Digging up dirt. Is someone investigating McGowan? Someone who might benefit from digging up dirt on the actress to damage her credibility?
Horsesh*t. As far as McGowan is concerned, the warrant is horsesh*t. She hasn't let the warrant bother her, as she's been seen out and about in NYC recently, and she's certainly not laying low or in hiding.
Conspiracy. A conspiracy theory might suggest that Rose is correct that she is indeed being targeted by someone who wants to keep her quiet. Similarly, Corey Feldman was arrested shortly after speaking out about inappropriate sexual conduct in the industry.
Weinstein. 58 women have now come forward against Weinstein. He's been fired from his job and reportedly did a one-week stint in rehab for sex addiction.
Weinstein's lawyer. According to Weinstein's lawyer, he's preparing to file a lawsuit against The New York Times. He further denies "many" of the allegations that have been made against him.
Trying to silence Rose. One thing is for sure. If this was an attempt to silence Rose McGowan, it certainly didn't work. She's not letting Harvey Weinstein or anyone else shut her up.
