Feminist artists are finding and creating new and innovative ways for women to reclaim their periods. Menstruation has been highly stigmatized in recent years, leaving men disgusted and women feeling ashamed of something that just happens naturally. Affiliates of the arts have quoted period art, “Menstrala,” originally coined by artist Vanessa Tiegs. Menstrual art began in the 1970s and is still going strong. The most recent case of menstrual art was actually earlier this week! Art never ceases to amaze, and these artists will continue churning. Check out 10 artists who are reclaiming their periods and rocking it!
