Sending moods. Inside the dress, there is a sensor. This sensor, which is attached to the inner layer of the dress (which is pretty much a bodysuit), senses the breathing rate. The graphene dress is created to respond to the changing of the breathing rate.
Breathing rate. In a sense, the dress doesn’t change colors so much out of someone’s mood than it does their breathing. For example, if you’re breathing quickly, it’ll start to turn purple. So if you’re feeling anxious, for example, your dress may end up turning purple.
Graphene. The color-changing elements of the dress are made out of graphene, and the dress’ designer, Francesca Rosella, couldn’t be happier with how the material helped her bring the dress to life. She stated that the reason she was drawn to this material was because, “graphene can conduct electricity, but also be transparent.”
