The dangers of being too attached to your child and being hyper vigilant as a parent have been well documented. Children who are being raised by helicopter parents are more likely to feel anxiety, less likely to be able to cope with regular life struggles, and more likely to commit suicide. They often have dysfunctional romantic relationships and may even crumple if a parent suddenly dies. Believe it or not, there’s a step beyond helicopter parenting called snowplow parenting - and it’s scarily common among moms today, despite the obvious dangers.
